how does it work?

This coaching program takes a group of MEN (usually 6-12) on a 12 WEEK JOURNEY to help them transform their BODY and their MIND.

Once you apply and are accepted into the program you (and the rest of your cohort) start the program with a KICKOFF meeting to go over all the details.

Once we get that meeting out of the way IT’S TIME TO GET TO WORK!

Your first assignment?

  • Complete your assessment workout
  • Weigh-in/take measurements
  • Take your BEFORE pictures

Then every week you will…

Have access to your workouts for the week – each workout will include a written description of the workout and include the exact number of sets and reps to do for each exercise. It will also include links to instructional videos for each exercise…in case you need them to double check the proper form and technique.

Complete your workouts – once you complete each workout I get a notification and will review your performance. I will send you any feedback I have about your workout to make sure you get the most out of each session in the gym.

Log your nutrition – obviously a big part of this program is going to be focusing on your eating. I require you to log your food every day (for every meal) so I can see how your nutrition program is working for you and make any adjustments needed.

Communicate with your coach – like any successful relationship communication is they key. I want you to succeed on the program so I want you to reach out with any questions you have or obstacles you come across. In return I will communicate with you exactly what you need to be doing to reach your goals.

Fill in your journal – We are talking about TRANSFORMATION here so writing about your journey is essential. So, in addition to documenting your workouts and food I want you to do more. I want to (and want YOU to) see your mind on paper. Simply put, in order to change your results we need to change your thinking. Once we see how your mind is working we can work on making the adjustments that will help get the results you want. Journaling is a way to accomplish all this and I will show you how to do it the right way.

Post and participate in the group – Getting into great shape is hard but…YOU DON’T HAVE TO DO IT ALONE! This program was created as a GROUP program on purpose! The power of learning from each other, supporting and motivating each other, and holding each other accountable cannot be overstated. Get involved and participate in the group. That is what it’s there for. Get in there and Inspire and be inspired!

Meet online for our weekly group check-in, Q&A’s and MINDSET COACHING session – every week we will meet via ZOOM for our MINDSET coaching session and to go over questions about the program. We will check-in to see how everyone is progressing on the the program, answer any questions that come up and discuss what’s on board for the following week.

Complete any assignments or homework – A key to finding success with this program is the coaching and work we will be doing around your mindset. At times you will have assignments or “homework” to complete that will help learn and practice the techniques we teach.

At certain points throughout the program I may ask you to take progress pictures, participate in some sort of challenge, or I may even surprise you with a certain “special request” just to make sure you are in the game.

But that’s basically it.

You show up each and every week and do the work that needs to be done and we will get you to where you want to be.

WEEKLY GROUP COACHING CALLS – You can’t change your body until you first change YOUR MIND. The key to having success with this program is learning how to do those things you need to do (but aren’t). That’s where the MINDSET COACHING comes in. Each week we jump on a call and cover the framework we use to help you reach your fitness goals. We cover everything from proper goal setting (most get it wrong), building confidence, overeating and developing discipline. Once you learn and practice this framework you can not only use it to change your body you can also use it to change any other areas of your life that you want.

A CUSTOMIZED WORKOUT PLAN – Working out in a big gym? No problem. Working out from home now? Don’t have any equipment or just a few dumbbells? It doesn’t matter. You will get a workout program designed around you and what equipment you have access to….even if it’s just your body! The workout plan will also take into consideration any limitations or injuries you may have. It is completely personalized to you and your specific goals and situation.

FEEDBACK –  This is a biggie! Most people don’t do their exercises correctly. That’s a fact. Walk with me around any gym and I will show you. I don’t want you to be THAT GUY! I want to make sure that YOU do yours correctly. I am a stickler on form and technique because I know how important it is. So, in order to get the most out of your workout I will make sure that you are doing everything SAFELY and EFFECTIVELY to not only avoid injury but to give you the best shot at success.

A COMPLETE NUTRITION PLAN – The nutrition plan is simple…and extremely effective. We start with a basic “foundation” nutrition plan…NOT A “DIET”… that will teach you how to eat correctly and get you on the path to reaching your goals. Eating healthy, gaining muscle and reducing body fat is the focus. As you progress on your program we make the needed adjustments to your plan so you don’t plateau and keep progressing towards your ultimate goal. And just remember…if you have had trouble sticking to your “diet” in the past the MINDSET COACHING will help you get over that hurdle so you can reach your goals.

WEEKLY GROUP CHECK-INS – Every week the group will meet online via ZOOM to discuss the program, your progress, answer any questions and go over what’s on board for the next week. There is so much power in a group setting like this! A group that is learning from each other and pushing towards a common goal together!

ACCOUNTABILITY/MOTIVATION – From weekly weigh-ins and progress reports to surprise check-ins I will hold you accountable to the plan and goals we lay out for you. DREW WORONKA

Drew is a Life and Mindset Coach for MEN and Certified Personal Trainer (with specialities in Nutrition, Group Training, and Functional Training) with over 16 years of experience in the fitness/coaching industry.

He created the BETTER MAN program from his desire to help MEN change their lives for the better through fitness. After noticing a gap between traditional workout programs, and the mindset you actually need to reach your fitness goals, he developed this program to help men bridge this gap.

“I noticed that most programs told guys WHAT to do but failed miserably at teaching them HOW to do those things if they weren’t doing them. Eating right, exercising more and being disciplined are all no-brainers and a lot of guys actually want to be or do those things but have a hard time. I wanted to help MEN change their lives so I needed to teach those guys to do the things that they know they needed to do but were failing at doing them…and that’s what we do in this program.”

What is a recovery run?

Personal trainers usually charge between $60 and $80 an hour.

In fact the really good ones can even charge $150 per session or more.

And, trust me, the good ones can be hard to find! (I know because I have been in the fitness industry for years.)

So, that means you usually spend $800-$1500 PER MONTH for in-person personal training. 

I wanted this program to be a cost effective way for you to work with me and get the same results as my one-on-one clients…for a fraction of the price.

FAQ’s

HOW MUCH DOES the program COST? ARE THERE ANY CONTRACTS?

The cost is $197 per month for 3 months. There are no contracts of any kind. 

HOW IS THIS PROGRAM DIFFERENT FROM ALL THE OTHER FITNESS PROGRAMS OUT THERE?

Great question. There are plenty of fitness programs out there but this program is different because it’s as much about building MENTAL STRENGTH as it is about PHYSICAL FITNESS.

It’s different because:

  • It focuses on MENTAL AND PHYSICAL TRANSFORMATION (not just workouts or short-term goals)
  • It includes MINDSET COACHING (You need to transform your thoughts before you can transform your body)
  • It’s done in a GROUP ENVIRONMENT (support of like-minded men pursuing a goal)
  • You have access to an EXPERT (24/7 throughout the program)
  • It’s CUSTOMIZED (workout and nutrition plans specific to you)

It’s not about the WHAT (what to eat, what exercises to do) as much as it is about the HOW (how to be more disciplined, how to create better habits, how to be more committed). That’s the key to lasting change and transformation.

why is the program 12 weeks long?

Honestly, it’s the best length of time that we have seen for our clients that have made permanent changes in their life.

4 weeks is way too short. 8 weeks you start getting some momentum. 12 weeks is optimal for the big shifts to really start to kick in.

Just remember…this program is not about the workouts or hitting short-term goals…it’s about true transformation…both MENTALLY and PHYSICALLY…and that takes time.

HOW MANY MEN ARE IN EACH GROUP?

There is a minimum of 6 and maximum of 12 MEN in each group or cohort.

I keep the size of the group small to provide you with the best support and service.

WHAT ARE THE WORKOUTS LIKE? HOW LONG do they take?

The workouts are between 45-60 minutes long and specifically designed for YOU based on your current level of conditioning.

While this overall program is designed to create fitness transformations each program and specific exercises will differ for each client.

In general the workouts will range from more traditional weight lifting and cardio workouts at the beginning and progress up to higher intensity type workouts (HIIT, Tabata, Metcon, etc.) later in the program.

WHAT ABOUT THE "DIET" or nutrition plan? What is that like?

First things first…I don’t believe in “diets”.

They aren’t sustainable. 

I do believe in teaching you HOW to eat to reach your goals. 

That includes not only WHAT to eat but HOW to do it…and HOW to do it sustainably.

If you are overeating, snacking when you shouldn’t, or have a hard committing to a nutrition plan there is a reason.

I will help you figure out WHY and develop a plan of action WITH YOU to get you on the right track. 

That’s the work we do on your MINDSET (thoughts and beliefs).

It’s the KEY TO LONG TERM SUCCESS. 

And here’s something else to consider…

Losing weight is one thing.

Losing FAT, changing your body and creating a lean muscular physique, is another.

The nutrition plan focuses on using REAL FOOD to do that effectively….burning fat and gaining muscle (or at least retaining muscle).

There are 3 phases of the nutrition program and I work with you to determine which one is right for you based on your specific situation and goals.

The nutrition plan does suggest quality protein supplements (shakes) if/when real food is not an option but does NOT focus on Keto or Intermittent/Long-Term Fasting or any type of “cleansing” products.

CAN I STILL DO THE PROGRAM IF I DO NOT GO TO A GYM RIGHT NOW?

Absolutely! YOU DON’T NEED A GYM TO CHANGE YOUR BODY! The workout program is designed around what you have. So, even if you don’t have any weights at all, an effective workout plan will be designed SPECIFICALLY for you and your situation.

I HAVE PREEXISTING INJURIES. CAN I STILL JOIN THE PROGRAM?

Yes! Having preexisting injuries is an important consideration when designing a workout program for you. When you do your initial phone consultation we go over your health history and injuries (past and present) in great detail and I can usually design a program around them.

Creating a SAFE and EFFECTIVE workout plan for you is my top priority and if your injury would prevent you from participating in the program I will let you know before you join.

WHAT IF I WANT TO CONTINUE THE PROGRAM AFTER THE 3 MONTHS ARE UP?

You can keep it going!

You can sign up for the next group and a new workout and nutrition plan will be designed for you.

Just remember…everything is customized so you can keep progressing until you hit your ultimate goal!
